Did you know that it is fairly easy to spin a coat hanger around your finger? It seems like it wouldn't work because of the big gap in the hook part, but if you swing it fast enough it will stay spinning around your finger.
Once you get it going, you only have to move your finger in a circular motion very slightly to continue the spinning. It's not about the motion of your finger, it's about the exact timing that synchronizes with the rotation.
